Dr. Jonah McCandless and Dr. Jeffrey Breithaupt are chiropractors serving Belton, Raymore and the surrounding areas. Meet the Staff

  • Dr.
    Jonah McCandless
    Executive Director

    After earning his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Dr. Jonah McCandless went back to work in his home town of Sedalia, MO. After two years of practice, Dr. McCandless decided to return back to the Belton/Raymore community, which is where he lived while going to school in Kansas City, to start up his own clinic. Now, Dr. McCandless has been the clinic director of Bel-Ray Wellness Center for the past 7 years and enjoys the opportunity to meet and help the people in his community. According to Dr. McCandless,"One of my desires is to help the people of Cass County achieve their health goals using chiropractic, rehabilitation, nutrition, and massage therapy." Through spinal/scoliosis screenings, talks, and an array of presentations, Dr. McCandless continues to strive for increased awareness of health and nutrition within the community. Dr. McCandless also holds certification in the Activator Technique and in the treatment of Whiplash Trauma, and has advanced training with the use of the Sigma Instrument. This extensive training enables him to manage many diverse cases.

    Jeffrey Breithaupt
    Associate Doctor

    After receiving his undergraduate degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Dr. Jeff continued his studies at Cleveland Chiropractic College and earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic. His mission as a Chiropractor is to treat and educate patients towards greater health and wellness through the benefits of chiropractic treatment. In Dr. Jeff's free time he enjoys spending time with his wife Angie and their two children; Bella and Jordy. They like to spend as much time as they can outdoors, going on walks to the park, playing games, and going to Royals games whenever possible. Dr. Jeff looks forward to getting to know each of his patients individually and help them achieve their healthcare goals.

  • Brenna Essenpries
    Clinic Manager

    Brenna is a vital employee of our wellness center. Brenna has been with the clinic since October 2008. She attended school at Heritage College and is a certified medical assistant and X-ray technician. As clinic manager, Brenna oversees the office and is able to help out in almost every area. She is also the insurance and billing expert on our staff. Our patients adore her outgoing personality and appreciate the attentiveness she gives to each individual.

  • Brooke Dice
    Receptionist

    Brooke is most likely the person to greet you when you come through the door. She has been with the clinic since February of 2011. Daily operation of our clinic highly depends on Brooke and her excellent office management skills. Brooke takes care of the front desk responsibilities such as patient records, patient check-in, and vital statistics for new patients. When needed, Brooke also assists with rehabilitation therapy.

  • Manny Urquilla
    Patient Educator

    Manny is the friendly face who all of our new patients will see on their first two visits. Manny gathers the health history and relays to the patient what the doctor found during the examination and x-rays. He also focuses on educating potential and existing patrons of the importance of chiropractic care.

  • Jessica Rinehart
    Chiropractic Assistant

    Jessica is a warm face that you might see in multiple areas of the clinic. She has been with the clinic since February 2016 and has been trained in several areas. She helps at the front desk with scheduling, checking patients in and out, as well as taking vitals and giving office tours for new patients when needed. Jessica can also be found on the rehabilitation side helping patients learn new stretches, taking foot scans as well as postural analysis scans and helping provide the necessary electrical muscle stimulation treatments recommended by the doctors.

    Chiropractic Assistant

    Jess is another warm face that you might see in multiple areas of the clinic.   • Hannah Jaloma
    Chiropractic Assistant

    After patients get adjusted, there's a good chance they will get to work with Hannah, our Rehabilitation Specialist and Chiropractic Assistant. She carries out multiple procedures to provide patients with a fulfilling rehab experience. She helps patients with stretches and strengthening exercises, which aids patients to re-educate muscles and help stabilize the spine. Hannah can also be spotted working alongside new patients, assisting them with their Postural Analysis and Foot Scans.

  • Jewels Dawson
    PR Specialist

    As the PR Specialist Jewels is handling all of our internal and external marketing. She is the contact person for scheduling our events and will be the person at all the events. For any questions about how to book a massage event at your work, fundraiser, or health fair please contact her.
